Our Spiel

Finite Fidelity is a progressive/alternative rock and roll band hailing from Austin, TX. Our music has been described as "SuperHeavyGroovyAssSludgyShit". Our music basically spans the many genres and sub-genres of rock while adding a dash, if you will, of progressive sound to the mix. We like to blend the rock and roll style you know and love with some prog elements, therefore making our music interesting to the the music nerds and the non-music nerds.

The band was birthed in mid 2015 by Scott Blanco (guitar/vox) and Ryan Monahan (drums), who became best of friends in college at the University of Texas at Austin School of Music and had been jamming with one another for a couple years prior to the band's birthing.  A few gigs were played before we both realized, "man, we'd sound a lot better with a bassist and another guitarist," so that's just what they set out to find. Scott conveniently holds an occupation at a local Austin guitar shop, where he met and recruited the next two members of the band, Tim Moen (bass) and Skylar Molina (guitar). With all the pieces in place, the band has quickly gelled and churned out tune after tune. Now with all their powers combined, they've set out on a journey to rock the world. Really, we just want to share our brand of music, have fun doing it, and make people happy. If you are doing it for the money and not the music, you're doing it wrong.

Sadly, Skylar left the band in early summer of 2016 due to an unfortunate smelting accident. Jk, he's fine. The split was very amicable and his reasoning for doing so was quite sound. Were all still good bros. Sad to see him go, but we know he'll go on to kick ass in life. Guy can cut a mean head of hair by the way. We just hope that someday, he'll grow a beard.

Fortunately and quite miraculously, it did not take long to find a new guitar demigod. Tim's good buddy, who goes by the name, Ian C.G., has accepted the task of melting people's faces with us. He's been to many of our shows and is a big fan of ours, so we're very thrilled to have him. Also he, like Tim, moved down to Austin from Madison, Wisconsin, so I gotta tell ya, it is great having two Wisconsin accented blokes in the band. We're currently in the process of imbuing our songs into Ian's mind palace, so you should see him at one of our upcoming shows very soon!
